Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I grew up with a love for drawing and painting. From middle school through college, I studied under a professional artist.
I started at Louisiana State University in Interior Design and Art, but life steered me into an accounting and finance career. After earning my CPA license in Georgia and practicing for many years, my husband and I started venturing into start-up businesses. It wasn’t until after marriage and children that life led me back to my passion of painting.
I believe my left-brain and right-brain fight for dominance, and this helps my art have a defined character. Whether I’m painting a landscape, figure, or still life, I strive to create an abstracted interpretation of life that shows my individual voice.
While I have taken art and design classes at LSU, I have predominantly learned through self-study and attendance of art workshops with other accomplished artists. I continue to learn this way, as my goal as an artist is to continue to learn, evolve, and push the envelope with my oil paintings.
